Personal, Professional and Community feedback
An unbelievably dedicated person, John is unafraid to seek out challenges and work relentlessly to exceed expectations
Ben Rizzardi- Naval Officer, former coworker
Mr. Stokes sets himself apart from other young teachers in his capacity to reflect on his own performance and use that information to adapt his lessons. He continually seeks to improve and eagerly tries new strategies.
Elizabeth Kopacek- Cooperating Teacher
John also has a considerable amount of experience with Special Education and English Language Learners in his classroom, which has given him many skills in differentiating and modifying lessons and assignments for the wide range of student ability. John has also had experience monitoring students in the AVID program at RAHS. This variety of teaching experience demonstrates John’s cultural competency, students are really starting to see themselves in his curriculum. It is easy to see that John cares about his students, their well-being, and their future. Having experience with students from a multitude of cultural and academic backgrounds put John above many other candidates in skill set and ability.
Amy Westland, Social Studies Department Chair, Roseville Area High School
Mr.Stokes is one of the most caring, smart, kind teacher you will meet. He actually cares and acknowledges how his students are doing/feeling. His energy is great, he makes learning so fun and his strategies are awesome!
Josie, Former Student
You don’t know what it means to have you willing to do whatever is needed and to be someone we can count on to teach the kids at any site. It takes a special person to be flexible and able to roll with the flow.

Hello Mr. Stokes,
Thank you very much for your email that was sent out yesterday, I really appreciate it and all that you have done for Henry this past year. I feel that he has become a more mature student this year due to your teaching and high expectations.
I wish you all the best in your search for a new teaching role within the district or WI. I feel that HMS is losing a great teacher and mentor to students.
Mitch Kullman- Parent of student at HMS
Mr Stokes
Thank you! I heard multiple times that you were one of his favorite teachers. He really enjoyed you and your style.
Whatever you were doing with Charlie, it worked, he is super hard to connect with.
Good luck, I wish you the best.
Thanks for staying sane in this insane year.

As a member of our Raider White team, John brought his expertise to our data-driven discussions, parent meetings, AIM meetings, SLO conversations, and student support meetings. He has problem-solved and helped create plans and tiered strategies to support student learning. John has introduced and taught us how to use new technological tools, such as Pear Deck, to our classrooms to increase student engagement and motivation. His feedback and communication to parents, administrators, colleagues, and students is timely and professional.
Raider White 6th Grade Teacher- Hudson Middle School
To begin, John truly cares about getting to know his co-workers and takes the time to get to learn their personalities so he knows best how to communicate with them. He appreciates working cooperatively with his PLC as well as other teachers on his team. John’s ability to communicate well with other teachers has allowed him to implement curriculum in a fun and engaging way for all of his students. Not only does John teach curriculum that is interesting for students, he also desires to connect with them outside of the classroom.
