8th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Community School of Excellence | St. Paul, MN

Provided student instruction for 8th grade students since 2021.

Taught Hmong/Karen/Karenni Refugees at an urban Charter School. Co-Taught classes with ELL and SPED teachers. Worked to differentiate instruction based on wide range of English Abilities. Implemented SIOP resources into daily lessons.

Support students from PreK-8th grade at Emergency Care sites during classroom closure due to COVID-19 pandemic. Design appropriate educational curriculum and lesson plans for socioemotional learning, literacy, and mathematics for use at four district E-care sites.

Roseville Area High School | Roseville, MN

Provided group instruction to students in an inclusion classroom for high school students grades 9 and 10. Developed age-appropriate curriculum and taught World Studies classes in an AVID Demonstration school. (Equivalent classes: Human Geography and World History) Queried students to determine level of understanding. Worked in an 8th Grade Social Studies Classroom with the topic of Global Studies with Mrs. Elizabeth Kopacek. Student taught from September 2018-December 2018. collaboration with cooperating teacher to create/implement lesson aligned with MN state standards, participation in PLC’s (professional learning communities) with other colleagues, attended district workshops on variety of topics, modifications for a wide variety of learners, planned lessons and classroom using Schoology Learning Management system and Infinite Campus. Connections with students and families at conferences and open houses.

April 2011 - March 2012

Additional Experiences 

Additional experience as Hockey/Baseball and Football Coach. Official for Baseball and Hockey as well as Guest Services at Target and Allianz Field.
